Maruti Suzuki is the latest car manufacturer who has developed a liking to the concept of a mini SUV. Maruti Suzuki is the latest car manufacturer to enter this segment with the recently launched S-Presso. Read below to know if the latest product from the country’s largest car manufacturer has something interesting to offer or if it is just a regular car. On first look, the S-Presso appears to offer all the ingredients of an SUV. The car has an upright shape, squared off front end with a high bonnet with the headlights that merge into the Brezza-like grille. The sides feature thin side cladding and 14-inch wheels with modest set of wheel-caps. There are no alloy wheels on any variant, though Maruti does have an extensive list of accessories that can be added to the model. The rear is pretty simple with a rugged looking bumper that adds some character. The SUV-ish 180mm of ground clearance is however impressive and the vehicle is also 120mm longer than the Alto. Overall, the S-Presso looks interesting, but then, looks are subjective and will evoke a mixed opinion. The interior looks fresh with an all-black theme and it features colour-coded orange bits on the top-spec variant. Th...

VIZIO 2019 P-Series Quantum X 4K HDR TV (PX65-G1) Gear Review

Overview – Serving as VIZIO’s flagship 2019 display, the P-Series Quantum X 4K HDR TV features quantum dot color, full array local dimming with 384 zones (65-inch model), Dolby Vision/HDR10 support, and over 2,000 nits of peak brightness in Calibrated mode. But while overall HDR performance is nearly unmatched here for a TV in this price range, the panel does suffer from some relatively minor but still noteworthy issues related to blooming, banding, and uniformity. Likewise, the SmartCast platform’s on-screen app lineup remains limited and navigation is rather sluggish compared to other smart TV systems. At a current sale price of just $1,600, however, the TV easily cements itself as one of the absolute best values on the market. Highly Recommended. Positioned as the successor to the company’s 2018 P-Series Quantum TV, the new P-Series Quantum X serves as a worthy successor to that previous flagship set while also offering a solid step-up from VIZIO’s other 2019 models. Carrying over the same quantum dot tech used throughout the Quantum lineup, the P-Series Quantum X improves upon its less expensive siblings by offering the highest HDR brightness ca...

Amygdalin, also referred to as laetrile, is a cyanogenic glucoside found in fruit pits, raw nuts,

Amygdalin, also referred to as laetrile, is a cyanogenic glucoside found in fruit pits, raw nuts, and some other plants such as lima beans and sorghum.1 Although they are often used interchangeably, laetrile is a purified form of amygdalin. Though sometimes called vitamin B-17, amygdalin is not officially recognized as a vitamin. Amygdalin became popular in the 1970s as an anticancer therapy, but after a phase 2 clinical trial demonstrated both no antitumor activity and a risk of cyanide poisoning, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned its use.2 An internet search, however, returns multiple hits touting the anticancer activity of amygdalin and the efforts of the FDA or pharmaceutical industry to “cover up” its efficacy. It is readily available through online retailers. In vitro studies have suggested anticancer activity across multiple tumor cell types, including inhibition of proliferation, migration, and invasion.1 More recent studies are consistent with these earlier reports, with studies demonstrating that amygdalin inhibits tumor cell migration, invasion, and adhesion, and at higher doses, proliferation in renal cell carcinoma, breast, bladder, prostate, and non-smal...

New Armstrong Parallel Sensorless Controller Coordinates Up to Four Pumps for Optimum Efficiency

The new Parallel Sensorless Pump Controller from Armstrong Fluid Technology coordinates the operation of up to four Armstrong variable speed pumps to offer superior energy efficiency at a reduced first installed cost. By automatically ensuring best efficiency staging, the new technology can improve pump efficiency in parallel pumping applications by as much as 35%. In addition, as the Armstrong pumps incorporate on-board inverters, and do not require the remotely mounted sensors, they can cut installation costs significantly at the same time as reducing overall project risk. The Armstrong Parallel Sensorless Pump Controller (PSPC) is an innovative add-on control device ideally suited to applications requiring two, three or four Armstrong DE IVS variable speed pumps configured in parallel. The traditional approach with other manufacturers’ pumps is to buy loose, racked or panel-mounted drives, requiring installation, along with one or more remotely mounted sensors which need to be installed in the system and wired in. In contrast, the Armstrong DE IVS pumps incorporate on-board inverters, capable of adjusting automatically to changes in load. The control technology resident in the...

Hazlemere Commercial: Aluminium Flush Casement Window Profiles Now Available

With a variety of frame, vent, mullion and transom options for the creation of multiple window styles, the Crown Aluminium Window Suite now offers even greater design flexibility. With a consistent unbroken external appearance, the flexibility of Sapa’s new aluminium flush window will suit a wide range of residential applications – from classic cottage aesthetics to modern, sleek designs. Sapa has developed the Crown Flush Suite to address the growing demand for this alternative style of window in aluminium in the UK. Externally, the suite offers 2 discreet styles – a traditional flush line mullion and transom, providing a uniform exterior face in keeping with the original flush window, or a slim flush line mullion and transom. This has simplified profiling which allows the window vent meeting style to have a flush appearance and reduced sight lines. Internal aesthetic is equally as important, Sapa provides a choice of four aluminium profile styles to suit a wide range of requirements – a traditional aluminium softline vent or contemporary square line vent, combined with full or step framing as well as a flat or full central mullion. The new suite benefits from full compatibili...

Check out our buyer’s guide for the best industrial and desktop SLS 3D printers. Includes SLS 3D printing services, technology overview, applications, materials, and more. Back in the 1980s, at the University of Texas in Austin, Dr. Carl Deckard and Dr. Joe Beaman developed and patented a manufacturing process called selective laser sintering (SLS). This was one of the first 3D printing technologies ever created, and over 30 years later, the technique is still being refined and advanced in a number of ways. SLS 3D printing uses a high-powered laser to fuse powdered material together into a desired 3D shape. This professional-grade technology is ideal for both functional prototyping and small production runs, as it offers a high degree of design freedom, high accuracy, and exceptional mechanical properties. Although SLS 3D printing was previously restricted to bulky and expensive machines, recent advancements have led to the development of more affordable and compact SLS machines. There are now a handful of desktop SLS 3D printers on the market, and even industrial-sized machines have become relatively inexpensive compared to traditional digital fabrication techniques. The ...
